Our 4 Favorite Attractions at Diggerland USA
Diggerland USA is a construction themed adventure park where children and their families drive, ride, and operate heavy machinery in a safe family-friendly environment. Diggerland has 4 locations in the UK, and one location in North American which opened June 14th 2014. Diggerland is the most unique amusement experience in the world. My kids love it, and have asked to go back all the time. It really is a unique experience for the whole family.
Attractions require a minimum of 36″ to ride on, some under the assistance of a parent or legal guardian. A few require a 42″ height to participate. Children under 36″ have free admission but are limited to the playground, Barrel Train, Military Truck, and arcade. Non-participating guests over 65 years in age are also free. Over 18? Check out the newly released Diggerland XL experience.
Here are our 4 favorite attractions at Diggerland USA:
The Spin Dizzy
This ride is quite properly named because it will spin you dizzy for sure. Once was enough for this mom, the kids flew solo on the next go around. My stomach isn’t as strong as it used to be.
It was fun listening to them giggle and scream and we swirled around.
Rider minimum height when accompanied by parent or guardian: 42″
Are you brave enough to conquer the Spin Dizzy as it lifts and spins you at not-for-the-faint-of-heart degrees? The specially designed three ton high, torque JCB JS220 will give adrenaline junkies just the fix they need. Strap in and hold on!
Rugged Riders
The kids really enjoyed this one, and they got in line several times to go again. They liked the feeling of driving like the grown ups. I was impressed with how well they handled the vehicles. I thought for sure there would be some crashes into the barrier, but nope.
Driver Minimum Height 48″, Minimum rider height when accompanied by parents/guardian: 42″
Ride or drive the comfortable and versatile off-road Kubota RTV-900. Weighing almost 2000 lbs and with 21.6 HP, the ease of using the Rugged Riders might surprise you. Read all about the release of this new ride in the press release.
Rock Wall
This is a great attraction and definitely a challenge. Only one of the kids actually made it all the way to the top. It wasn’t for lack of trying either. The kids spent a good chunk of the day climbing this structure. They tried quite a few times to get to the top. It was great watching them be so fearless.
Minimum climber height: 42″ Close toe and close heel shoes required. No flip flops of sandals.
Are you ready for the Rock Wall challenge? At 32 feet tall, this attraction is higher than a two story house! Once secured in a safety harness, climbers will work their way, step-by-step, up along the wall, trying to vanquish this vertical beast.
Ropes Course
I will be honest this was not my favorite. I wasn’t ready. This is a great ropes course and quite the challenge. You are harnessed for safety as there isn’t much to hold on to at times. The older kids loved it. They went all the way to the top and climbed across multiple obstacles. They had such fun up there challenging themselves, while I held my breath down on the ground.
Minimum climber height when accompanied by parents/guardian: 42″ Close toe and close heel shoes required. No flip flops of sandals.
One of the world’s tallest ropes courses is right here in Diggerland! At four stories tall, this attraction is not for guests with a fear of heights. Suit up with your safety harness, take a deep breath and try to make it to the top. But once you get there, are you brave enough to look down?!
Big Diggers
These were fun for everyone. You get to control your own digger. You can dig down, grab the dirt and move it to the side, and dump the dirt out. The kids really enjoyed trying these out.
Operator minimum height: 42″ | Lap rider must be: 36″ – 48″
Learn to operate a real digger! Weighing in at a whopping 7,092 pounds, and with a powerful 26.8hp engine, kids can dig until their hearts are content on the JCB 8030’s. This supervised attraction offers family-friendly machinery and the chance to really get down and dirty!
